I've crossed over! I'm one of THEM now!
THEM? A Happy Planner of course! Here is my beautiful new (bullet journal) happy planner and I could not be more happy! I guess there's no false advertisement there. Now I know what I said... and if you don't know what I said, you can check out my video here: But I am much older and wiser now... I mean, come on, that was posted in 2016! (The internet has killed sarcasm). So here's where I stand on the three main issues today. 1. The Rings The rings are very annoying in smaller sized planners. When you're trying to maximize the space on a page, the rings being in the way is a serious issue. However, with my Big Happy Planner, I have such a large piece of paper (8 1/2 x 11) that I will automatically get more out of that sheet then I would on a smaller A5 notebook. 2. The Purse I still stand by what I said... "It needs to fit in the purse!" However, a grand total of a year and a half later I changed my tune to "Just get a bigger purse!" So I have this new taller purse. I got it at Walmart for around $20. It is very cute and the planner fits right in AND zips closed! Problem solved, moving on... 3. Missed Days In the Happy Planner, there are inserts and with that comes the possibility of 'missed days' and a 'hole' in your planner. There is only one clear solution for this...stickers! Honestly, I will probably use most of the space provided in the inserts for actual planning, but any spaces are an opportunity to decorate, and I already have a TON of sticker books - the ones actually designed for this planner - and I think I will have a much easier time using them in the planner than in my A5 bullet journal. Does this mean you've given up on bullet journaling? Absolutely not! I still plan on having collections and routine trackers and goal lists, etc. It just allows me a little more freedom. And think of the perks! - Free printables! - I'll finally be able to used them! Because let's face it, resizing is a pain and that sticker paper is expensive! - Lined paper for writing - I have no idea why, but I've never liked writing on a dot grid. There's something not right about it. - Did I mention stickers?! - Okay, I know I can put stickers in my A5 bujo (and I have) but I almost feel like that's frowned upon??? in favor of hand drawing. Stickers in Happy Planners are par for the course. I know this is a crazy switch to those who have been following me since 2016, but I am really excited about the change and am looking forward to exploring this new medium for my craft: being beautifully productive. I hope you all aren't too disappointed, because I want you to be as happy as I am. And I am so happy!
